The following scholarships are available to the Class of 2024 (any graduating seniors living in the Gettysburg Area School district); those for only Gettysburg Area High School (GAHS) students are so noted.
Endowed and pass-through scholarships
ACNB Bank Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship based on a combination of merit and need, but with financial need the primary factor. The scholarship is intended to assist low- or moderate-income individuals or families who meet the criteria for the school lunch program.
American Legion Post 202 Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship awarded to a student graduating from Gettysburg Area High School and and who has "Qualities for Development": Courage, Patriotism, Honor, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service Connection or relationship with a Veteran. Financial need component.
Rev. Douglas and Eunice Boden Family Scholarship
$500 scholarship to a Gettysburg Area High School graduating senior entering the field of education. Financial need component.
Anthony and Rosemary Bogden Scholarship
$2,000 scholarship to a Gettysburg Area High School student entering a vocational or technical program of studies or a nursing program. Financial need component.
Boehne Family Scholarship
$2,500 to a GASD student who has received the Girl Scout Gold Award or has participated in an active Girl Scout troop in high school; financial need and merit component.
Faith Boone Memorial Scholarship
$500 to a student with a minimum 3.0 GPA who played softball for 3 years in High School including their senior year. Financial need component.
Marilyn Brough Nursing Scholarship
$2,000 to a GAHS student entering the field of nursing. Financial need and merit component
Paul S. and Mary Lou Burkholder Scholarship
A renewable scholarship to a GAHS student entering the field of education. This $4,000 scholarship is for $1,000/year which may be renewed for up to three additional years; financial need and merit component
Tony Bushey Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 to a GASD student who exhibits qualities reflective of good character: respect, honesty, responsibility, fairness, trustworthiness, integrity, kindness and compassion for others and played a varsity level sport for two years while maintaining a 3.0 GPA. Merit & financial need component..
Clara Denham Millett Scholarship
1,000 to a female GAHS student who is first in the family to attend a post high school program; preference given to a 4 year program. Financial need & merit.
Mary A. Fidler Medical Professions Scholarship
$3,000 scholarship awarded to a Gettysburg Area High School student entering the health care field, with first consideration given to those students entering nursing; financial need component.
Robert Fidler Award
$3,000 to a Gettysburg Area High School student with an outstanding attendance record. Merit only.
Alex Flores Memorial Scholarship
$1,500 to a student attending Gettysburg High School planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college; involved in extracurricular activities, or a community volunteer, or has a strong work ethic; financial need and merit component.
J. David Getty Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship to a student entering the field of telecommunications (e.g., production, broadcast journalism, scriptwriting or new media development). Financial need component.
Gettysburg Area Education Association Scholarships
Over $4,000 in scholarships awarded to Gettysburg Area High School students entering the field of education. Based on merit alone.
Gettysburg Area High School Music Association Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship to a senior member of the GAHS band, chorus, or orchestra; based on merit alone.
Gettysburg Area High School Class of 1971 Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship to a graduating GAHS student pursuing academic, professional or technical/trade training in a 2-4 year program; based on need and merit.
Gettysburg Area High School Class of 1978 Scholarship
$500 scholarship to a graduating GAHS student eligible for a Gettysburg Area Dollars for Scholars Scholarship; financial need component.
Gettysburg Area High School Class of 1997 Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship to a graduating GAHS student pursuing academic, professional or technical/trade training in a 2-4 year program; based on need and merit.
Patrick's Hope Gettysburg Battlefield Association Scholarship
Renewable scholarship for a GAHS student attending HACC; $1,000/year which may be renewed for up to three additional years; financial need and merit component
Gettysburg Cross Country Invitational Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship to a student who participated in GAHS Cross Country in junior and senior years and who placed during post-season competition; based on merit alone
Gettysburg High School Alumni Association Scholarship
$1,500 scholarship to a GAHS student planning to enter the field of teaching/education. Financial need component.
Gettysburg High School Class of 1964 Academic Award
$1,000 to a Gettysburg Area High School student who attended 4 years at GAHS and attained a 3.5 GPA. The student also needs to have participated in school activities and community activities all 4 years. 2- or 4-year college. Merit based.
Gettysburg High School Class of '65 Scholarship
$2,000 to a graduating Gettysburg Area High School student eligible for a Gettysburg Area Dollars for Scholars Scholarship. Financial need component.
Gettysburg Pediatrics Scholarship
$1,000 to a graduating student who is a current patient of Gettysburg Pediatrics. Financial need & merit.
Richard Guindon Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 to a GAHS student who is pursuing a 2- or 4-year technical or academic education and who lettered in varsity golf; based on merit alone.
The "Heart of the Warrior" Athletic Scholarship
$1000 scholarship to a student graduating from GAHS, who participated in PIAA varsity sports, showed leadership and team spirit, and provided volunteer service to athletics in the Gettysburg area; based on merit alone.
Margaret S. Gustafson Scholarship
$1,000 to a GAHS student who is pursuing a 2-year education, preparing themselves for a position in the workforce. Preferably a vo-tech career. Financial need component.
Thomas P. Henninger Scholarship
$500 to a student who demonstrates community service, good work ethic, and initiative; financial need component.
Hoover Family Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship given to a student currently employed by Kennie's Market; financial need and merit component

$1,000 scholarship to a student entering the field of education; financial need and merit component

$1,500 scholarship awarded to a Gettysburg Area High School student entering the creative or performing arts fields. Financial need component.
Stu Kravits Emerging Artist Scholarship
$500 to a student pursuing a trade, tech or academic program in the performing arts or arts industry; based on merit alone

$1,000 to a GAHS student who is first in the family to attend a post high school program; financial need and merit.

$2,000 to a GAHS student majoring in accounting, economics, statistics or math related programs; financial need and merit component.

George Lomas Scholarship

$1,000 to a Gettysburg Area High School student desiring to pursue a career in education or school administration. Financial need component.
Mike's KARS Inc. Technology & Trade Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded to a student entering a trade or technical school, with preference given to a student pursuing an education in an automotive specialty. Financial need component.
National Honor Society Scholarships
$500 merit scholarships awarded to the top-scoring applicant who is a member of the Gettysburg Area High School Chapter of the National Honor Society. Based on merit alone.

$1,000 to a graduating senior entering the field of and/or related to physical, environmental, earth, or space science; based on need and merit.
The Onward and Upward First Generation Scholarship
$2,000 to a student who is first in the family to attend a post high school 2-4 year academic or vocational program. with a preference given to a BIPOC student: financial need

$2,000 to a student with a strong interest in history. Based on Merit alone.

$1,000 scholarship to a Gettysburg Area High School student completing an approved career and technical education program and furthering their education. Financial need component.
Edith P. Reinhart Memorial Scholarship
$500 to a GAHS student based on the overall strength of the students' applications. Financial need component.
Moris and Janice Quint Scholarship
$1,000 to a student majoring in a mental health field; based on need and merit.
Amy Sheads Ridinger Scholarship
$500 scholarship to a graduating GAHS student entering a field related to history or teaching. Based on merit alone.
Louise and David Sayre Family Scholarship
$1,500 scholarship awarded to a Gettysburg Area High School graduating senior who shows exceptional community service involvement of an on-going nature; the student can be attending any post-secondary accredited 2-year, trade-technical or 4-year academic program. Financial need component.
Joseph J. Schaeffer Memorial Scholarship
$500 to a graduating senior entering a 2-4 year academic, professional, trade, or technical post secondary program; financial need component.
Wade A. Schroyer Memorial Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded to a Gettysburg Area High School graduating senior who has been a varsity member of a GAHS varsity sports team for at least 2 years, with preference given to a member of the golf team. Based on merit only.
Jay Sixeas Memorial Scholarship
$1,500 to a GAHS student with a minimum 3.0 GPA who played and lettered in baseball his junior and senior years; based on merit alone.
Idona Teeter Scholarship
$3,000 scholarship awarded to a Gettysburg Area High School graduating senior planning to enter the nursing field. Financial need component.
Temple Family Scholarship
$2,000 to a student entering the building trades or music; music ed, music therapy, performing arts; financial need component.
Dorothy Ely Thomas Music Scholarship
$3,000 scholarship split among GAHS students who are planning on pursuing a college education in music or music education. Awarded on merit alone.
Richard and Ruth Jean Unger Scholarship
$1,200 scholarship to a student who has participated in a school-district-recognized alternative pathway or support program which enabled the student's on-time graduation. Financial need component.
Andrew Waybright Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 award honoring fallen Gettysburg firefighter Andrew Waybright. Given to a Gettysburg Area High School student who is currently involved in emergency services and who displays dedication, cooperation, regard for others, courage, and leadership. Based on merit alone.
Ella Dougherty Weaver $5,000 Scholarship
A renewable scholarship for a student with financial need who meets all of the general Dollars for Scholars criteria. The scholarship is for $5,000/year which may be renewable for up to three additional years.
Gerald E. White Memorial Scholarship
$1,500 scholarship to a student who lettered in varsity baseball or varsity softball. Based on merit alone.
Mildred A. Widder Award for Excellence in the Arts
$500 award to a GASD student based on awards and honors received for art work and art achievement. Merit only.
Stanley Wolf Family Memorial Scholarship
$500 scholarship to a student pursuing a degree in agricultural sciences, including environmental sciences and resource management; financial need component.
William H. Yohe, III Memorial Scholarship
$1,500 scholarship awarded to a Gettysburg Area High School student going into a trade or technical field. Financial need component.
Zeigler Music Education Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship to a GASD student pursuing an undergraduate degree in music education and who possesses excellence in both musical ability and academic standing; based on merit alone.

Gettysburg Area Dollars for Scholars Board of Directors Scholarship
$2,000 given at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Preference to students who have shown initiative to improve their academic standing and have potential for college success and may have participated in the alternative pathways program. Financial need component.
Gettysburg Area Dollars for Scholars General Scholarships
Scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000 are open to all applicants who are graduating seniors living in the Gettysburg Area School District, regardless of the high school from which they will graduate. These scholarships are supported by the general funds of Gettysburg Area Dollars for Scholars. Based on the overall strength of the student's application and financial need.
